This Alessi fangotto is hand painted by Giacomo Alessi who founded the Alessi factory in Caltagirone, Sicily. The history of the fangotto or plate, which can be three dfferent sizes, is based on the tradition of each family member having his or her own plate for sun drying tomatoes. |
